Trying to adopt new skills or behaviors? Just need to remember to breathe?
were designed to help you along your journey to building new habits and turning over a new leaf. The bracelet serves as a visual and tactile reminder of your intentions and helps you act on them. They help you create new, powerful ways of being and acting that is in line with your vision of your ideal self.
While there is a large selection of colors and styles to choose from, all of the bracelets have components that bear significance.
Each bracelet has one or more:
Faceted (cut) stones that represent the many facets of yourself and your relationships
Clear beads signifying clarity of purpose and direction
Square silver ‘labyrinth’ bead symbolizing your journey as you navigate life
Leaf charm which represents your commitment to turn over a new leaf in your relationships and your life
And, each New Leaf Touchstone bracelet is packaged with a set of instructions for ‘charging’ it in order to give it its power to help you be your best self.
The bracelets are hand-made with care by a wonderful group of at-risk adolescent girls who are students at the Germaine Lawrence School, a therapeutic residential school for adolescent girls in Arlington, MA. The students are working to overcome a variety of psychological, behavioral and emotional issues. Many have been sexually abused and/or exploited, some are fire-setters, cutters, or have severe eating disorders or other behavioral challenges. Working for New Leaf Touchstone, they earn money, and learn social and business skills. The knowledge that they are making a contribution to others and creating a beautiful product helps them build their self esteem. This work in conjunction with their program, gives them the opportunity to turn over a new leaf, too and to build a brighter future for themselves.
“I like making bracelets because it’s fun and it keeps me focused on the pattern. Also, they have a good message behind them”. KB
“Making the bracelets makes me feel good because it means something to other people.”
“Making bracelets makes me feel calm.”
It’s a fun activity to do and it’s a great experience. I’ve learned that each bead means something different. JC
